14th Annual MLK Community Celebration: “Continue the Dream” ๐๏ธ๐ Join the Brownwood community on Monday, January 19, 2026, for a powerful day of reflection, unity, and celebration. Presented by R.O.C. (Revitalizing Our Community), this yearโs 14th annual event invites residents and visitors alike to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. under the inspiring theme: “Continue the Dream” . The morning begins with a traditional commemorative march, followed by a full program featuring esteemed guest speakers, soulful musical performances, and community recognition. Event Schedule ๐๏ธ 9:00 AM: Assemble at the Bennie Houston Center (505 Cordell Street) to shuttle to MLK Plaza. 9:30 AM: The community march begins from MLK Plaza back to the Bennie Houston Center. 10:00 AM: The main program commences in the Bennie Houston Center Gym. Program Highlights ๐ค๐ถ Guided by Master of Ceremony Harold Hogan, the program features an incredible lineup of local and guest leaders: Keynote Speaker: The Honorable Mitchell Jordan, Mayor of Palestine, TX. Special Remarks: Brownwood Mayor, the Honorable Stephen Haynes. Musical Performances: Inspiring sets by the BHS Band, Gene Galloway, and Vick Cooper. Invocations & Benediction: Led by Pastor Eric Jordan and Dr. Cory Hines, President of Howard Payne University.
