More than six months after officially signing with Island Records, Suki Waterhouse has released her first new music for the label. “Back in Love” was co-written with Waterhouse and frequent collaborators Natalie Findlay and Jules Apollinaire and produced by the latter.

It’s accompanied by a video directed by Kaz Firpo, during which Waterhouse’s horn-enhanced music inspires a whole lot of public affection from the attendees of a fancy nightclub. “The phrase ‘Back in Love’ reflects many ideas,” she says. “For me, it’s about coming back to your sense of self after having an identity shift.”

As of yet, there are no further details about Waterhouse’s Island debut, which will be the follow-up to 2024’s Memoir of a Sparklemuffin. That album, her second and final release for Sub Pop, generated the streaming hits “My Fun,” “OMG” and “To Love” and brought the onetime model/actress to new levels of visibility.

Waterhouse has been off the road since opening for Laufey in North American arenas last fall, but she will return to the stage for a handful of shows this summer. They include July 31 at Lollapalooza in Chicago, Aug. 2 at the Hinterland festival in Saint Charles, Ia., Aug. 6 in Seattle and Aug. 7 in Portland, Or.
