Olivia Rodrigo will be back in time for summer. The 23-year-old pop phenom’s third album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, will be released June 12 through Geffen, although no new music is out yet. It was recorded with longtime producing and songwriting collaborator Daniel Nigro.
“I am so proud of this record and I can’t wait for you to hear it,” Rodrigo wrote on Instagram of a project whose cover appears to be Rodrigo upside down in a swing while decked out in a red-and-white checkered dress and black high heels with white socks (see below). More from Spin:
You Seem Pretty Sad is the follow-up to 2023’s GUTS, which, like Rodrigo’s 2021 debut SOUR, reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200. It was later nominated for four Grammys, including Album of the Year.
Rodrigo supported the album with an extensive world tour, which wrapped in the fall of 2025. The artist also joined Feist for a version of the White Stripes’ “We’re Gonna Be Friends” at the latter’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction in November.
