After teasing its arrival in the California desert earlier this week, Radiohead has confirmed that its immersive KID A MNESIA experience won’t be limited to the so-called Bunker at Coachella — it’s heading out on the road too.
Motion Picture House featuring KID A MNESIA is a large-scale audiovisual installation built around a new film drawn from the artwork created by Thom Yorke and Stanley Donwood during the making of the beloved albums Kid A and Amnesiac. The footage is set to a soundtrack constructed from the original multitrack recordings of those albums, placing viewers inside a disorienting, narrative-driven environment Yorke describes as a story “in which a Monster is trapped in a derelict museum of the lost & forgotten.”
More from Spin:
As previously reported, the experience will debut inside an enormous, purpose-built underground bunker at Coachella before traveling internationally. Following its desert launch, Motion Picture House will roll out in select cities across North America, including Brooklyn, Chicago, Mexico City and San Francisco, in limited engagements throughout 2026 (see dates below). Each stop will offer timed entries, giving attendees roughly 75 minutes inside, along with additional time to explore the surrounding exhibition space.
The project expands on a digital version of KID A MNESIA, originally released via Epic Games during the pandemic as a translation of the band’s visual universe into a virtual space. Motion Picture House is the physical realization of that idea: a fully immersive environment featuring a custom six-point surround sound system, large-scale installations and gallery spaces showcasing Yorke and Donwood’s artwork from the era.
In tandem with promoter AEG, Radiohead is using Fair AXS for ticket pre-registration, the window for which runs through midnight PT on April 12. Any remaining tickets will be made available to the general public on April 24.
