Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy capped the promo cycle in support of his latest solo album, Twilight Override, with a performance on CBS’ The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in tandem with Paramore’s Hayley Williams.

The pair covered Unknown Mortal Orchestra’s “Ffuny Friends,” which Tweedy previously debuted live during an April 1 show in Portland, Or. Tweedy also sat for a couch segment with Colbert and fellow guest/longtime Wilco fan/Tweedy close friend Nick Offerman, during which they discussed their (possibly) one-sided bromance.

More from Spin:

“For about 20 years, Jeff was like my John Lennon. I would get his records and say to my friends, how does he see into my soul? We are in love. He just doesn’t know it yet,” Offerman joked of Tweedy, who he eventually cast in a cameo as a “washed-up midwestern rocker” in an episode of Parks & Recreation. Offerman also described Tweedy as the “Bear Grylls of mid-tempo rock.”

With the Twilight Override tour complete, Wilco will return to the road April 23 in Ft. Wayne, In., and has dates on the books through Sept. 3 in Sibenik, Croatia. They include the long-running Sold Sound festival on the MASS MoCA campus in North Adams, Ma., which is set for June 26-28. The event will feature the first proper live performances of material Wilco recorded with Billy Bragg for three Mermaid Avenue albums inspired by a trunk of unpublished Woody Guthrie lyrics.
