Madonna Guests With Sabrina Carpenter At Coachella

Two days after revealing her long-awaited sequel to 2005’s Confessions on a Dance Floor, Madonna made a grand return to the Coachella stage during a guest appearance in Sabrina Carpenter’s headlining set on Friday (April 17).

The 67-year-old Queen of Pop emerged for a run through “Vogue” before debuting the new song “Bring Your Love,” which is expected to appear on Madonna’s July 6 album Confessions II. “Sabrina, thank you so much for inviting me on your show,” Madonna told Carpenter, who replied, “no thanks needed, Madonna. You can have whatever you want.”

Madonna went on to highlight one of the most memorable sets in Coachella history, when she performed in the comparatively tiny Sahara tent exactly 20 years ago to the day. “That was such a thrill for me, so you can imagine what a thrill it is for me to be back 20 years later in the same boots, the same corset, the jacket I had on earlier, the same Gucci jacket,” she said, likening it to a “full-circle moment.”

“The great thing about music is that it brings people together, am I right?,” she continued before performing “Like a Prayer” with Carpenter. “It’s the one place that people have to put their differences aside, put their shit down, and just everybody have a good time together. So, I am thrilled to be a part of that healing experience [of] bringing people together.”

Another new Madonna song, “I Feel Free,” has also been unveiled as part of the rollout for Confessions II, Madonna’s first album for Warner Records in nearly 20 years.
