Kacey Musgraves Gets Steamy In NSFW ‘Mexico Honey’ Video

Kacey Musgraves is leaning all the way into summer. The eight-time Grammy winner has unveiled the official video for “Mexico Honey,” the sultry standout from her sixth studio album, Middle of Nowhere.

Shot on location in Mexico and directed by Running Bear (Alexa Stone and Stephen Kinigopoulos), the clip doubles as both a postcard to one of Musgraves’ favorite destinations and a sun-drenched celebration of the romance and adventure that inspired the song.

The video is packed with memorable moments befitting the track’s carefree vibe. Musgraves belts out the song during a karaoke session, knocks back tequila shots, hangs halfway out the passenger side window of a speeding vehicle and shares an intimate shower session with her love interest. In one playful sequence, she covers her breasts with a brightly colored tropical bird, while another finds her face-to-face with a boa constrictor. The video closes on a cinematic note, with her paramour carrying her across a muddy street after an eventful day of escapades.

The visual arrives as Musgraves continues a busy year. As previously reported, the singer will begin a North American tour in support of the new album on Aug. 20-21 in Chicago. Opening acts will include Midland, Flatland Cavalry, Carter Faith, Estevie, Charles Wesley Godwin, William Beckmann, Gabriella Rose and the Brudi Brothers at various stops.

She also has another accolade on the horizon: the 19th annual ACM Honors in Nashville on Aug. 19. Inspired by Merle Haggard, the honor recognizes artists who embody the country legend’s commitment to storytelling, authenticity and the enduring spirit of country music.
