The Beatles are finally coming home — at least on screen.

Sam Mendes’ ambitious The Beatles – A Four Film Cinematic Event is set to film at London’s legendary Abbey Road Studios this summer, according to a production notice obtained by Deadline. The planned sequence will reportedly involve “approximately 80 extras and some vintage vehicles,” with filming taking place outside the famed studio and in its front courtyard in coordination with Westminster City Council.

More from Spin:

While it’s unclear whether cameras will roll inside the studio itself, the location carries enormous significance. The Beatles recorded 190 of their 210 released songs at Abbey Road between 1962 and 1970, and ultimately named their final recorded album after the iconic street. The production notice has already fueled speculation that the films could recreate the band’s instantly recognizable Abbey Road crosswalk photograph.

As previously reported, Mendes’ unprecedented four-film project will tell the story of each member of the Fab Four through an interconnected series of theatrical releases slated for April 2028. Paul Mescal stars as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon, Barry Keoghan as Ringo Starr and Joseph Quinn as George Harrison.

Saoirse Ronan will star as Paul McCartney’s first wife Linda Eastman, Anna Sawai as John Lennon’s second wife Yoko Ono, Aimee Lou Wood as George Harrison’s first wife Pattie Boyd and Mia McKenna-Bruce as Ringo Starr’s first wife Maureen Starkey. In addition, Lucy Boynton will portray Jane Asher, Harry Lawtey has been cast as late bassist Stuart Sutcliffe and Farhan Akhtar will play Ravi Shankar.

Per Deadline, the quartet of films is being scripted by Jez Butterworth, Peter Straughan and Jack Thorne. In related news, the Beatles’ landmark Rubber Soul is getting the deluxe treatment this fall, with an expanded special edition arriving Oct. 2 featuring newly remixed audio and a wealth of previously unheard recordings.
