103.5 The X Brownwood Rocks!

Kane Brown is reaching back to one of country music’s most indelible boot prints. On Friday (Sept. 4), the Nashville star will release “Boots (ft. Shania Twain)” via Sony Music Nashville, a new collaboration that pays homage to Twain’s 1995 breakthrough song “Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?”
Written by Twain and released as the lead single from her landmark album The Woman in Me, “Whose Bed Have Your Boots Been Under?” was a turning point in the five-time Grammy-winner’s career, becoming her first Top 40 country hit, first RIAA-certified Gold single and first Billboard Hot 100 entry. Brown’s “Boots” puts a contemporary, male perspective on the song, bringing two generations of country together around a title — and a pair of boots — with plenty of history behind it.
More from Spin:
The collaboration arrives as Brown is celebrating another career milestone: “Woman” has become his 14th No. 1 at country radio. Earlier this summer, the artist also opened Kane Brown’s On Broadway in downtown Nashville.
Brown has also continued to build out his screen résumé, guest-starring in Nashville 911 last year and executive producing the Lifetime holiday film Thank God: Christmas at Keller Ranch. On Sept. 5, he’ll headline Amazon Music presents Off to College at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, an exclusive concert and livestream presented with Gatorade, Meta, Michael Kors and SharkNinja.
Brown will also perform Sept. 12 in Mount Pleasant, Mi., and Nov. 12 in Hollywood, Fl., as part of Audacy’s Stars & Strings event.
As for Twain, she opened 12 London stadium shows for Harry Styles earlier this summer. Her seventh album, Little Miss Twain, was released in late July.
