Djrum Dazzles Anew On ‘I Wander ‘EP

After wowing adventurous listeners with his 2025 jazz-tinged electronic album Under Tangled Silence, U.K.-based musician/producer Djrum (Felix Manuel) will unveil new music this summer in the form of the EP I Wander. Said to be “arranged for continuous playback,” the six-track project is due Aug. 14 on Houndstooth and can be previewed via its fourth and fifth segments below.

“What’s the difference between a song, a track, a work, a piece? I am interested in playing with these distinctions,” Manuel says. “I Wander can be digested in bitesize chunks, or taken as a whole. Each track tells a different story on their own, but taken as a whole, a different narrative is revealed.”

Fans who delighted in Under Tangled Silence‘s blend of Warp Records-style electronica and piano-forward acoustic instrumentation will find much more of the former on I Wander, which nods at times to the frenetic breakbeats of prime-era Aphex Twin and Squarepusher. It follows an album The Guardian called “a masterclass of detail and vision,” while The Wire hailed it as “an exquisite amalgam of past and present musical identities.”

Fresh off a sold-out performance at London’s Barbican, Manuel will perform today (July 2) at Denmark’s Roskilde Festival and has international shows on tap through late October.
