Foo Fighters Bust Out Rarities At Hollywood Bowl

Foo Fighters busted out three major rarities last night (Aug. 22) during a one-off performance with the L.A. Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, with “Razor” from In Your Honor emerging for the first time since 2006, “Home” from Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace for the first time at a public show since 2007 and “I Should Have Known” from Wasting Light for the first time since 2012.

The event honored Philharmonic music director Gustavo Dudamel, who is leaving his role after 17 years for a similar job with the New York Philharmonic. Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl previously performed with Dudamel and the L.A. Philharmonic at Coachella in 2025.

Per Setlist.fm, “Razor” was played for just the 27th time ever, while “Home” had previously only been aired once in the past 19 years at a live-streamed virtual reality concert in 2022. The Foos were also augmented by a choir decked out in multi-colored robes throughout the show.

“This is definitely something that we haven’t done in, oh my god, 15, 20 years? I don’t know. A long time,” Grohl told the crowd before “Razor.” “I practiced it this morning. Do we have some OG Foo Fighters fans out there? I recognize most of you. This song goes out to the OGs.”

Foo Fighters are on a short break from their Take Cover stadium tour and will resume performances Sept. 4 at the Rock in Rio festival in Brazil. The group will also open a Sept. 18 one-off for AC/DC in St. Louis.
