Harry Styles will host an eclectic array of musicians as part of the annual artist-curated Meltdown Festival, which will be held June 11-21 at London’s Southbank Centre. Styles will perform on a date to be announced, while LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy will DJ on June 20, while Blood Orange’s Dev Hynes will perform “sublime new compositions” with his own Ensemble, featuring Tariq Al-Sabir, Adam Tendler, and Cæcilie Trier.
Styles has been vocal about the influence of Murphy and LCD Soundsystem on his latest album, Kiss All the Time, Disco Occasionally, telling BBC Radio 1 that he saw the group perform twice in recent years and felt “joyous. I think the inspiration from them came of like, oh, that’s how I want to feel when I’m on stage.’ And then that kind of led to the kind of music I was making.”
