103.5 The X Brownwood Rocks!

Following the surprise release last year of an 18-track solo album, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party, Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams appears to have formed another new band dubbed Power Snatch. Its debut release, EP1, is available now on Bandcamp and [untitled].
Williams is flanked in Power Snatch by producer Daniel James, who also lent a hand on the Grammy-nominated Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party. One track on the EP is the group’s first song, “DMs,” which first appeared in December. It also includes the piano- and breakbeat-laden “DUH,” on which Williams reminisces about “house shows” and “hanging out with band dudes twice my age,” and the similarly oblong “HOLE IN THE CEILING.”
More from Spin:
Williams was up for Best Alternative Music Album (for Ego Death) and Best Alternative Music Performance (for “Parachute”) at the Feb. 1 Grammy Awards, but was defeated by the Cure, which won the first Grammys of its career in the process. “We’d like to thank the Academy,” Williams wrote on Instagram. “And it’s an honor to lose to the Cure anytime.”
The artist will embark on an extensive solo tour this year, starting March 27 in Atlanta and winding down June 30 in Dublin. She has at least one special North American live appearance on the calendar that has yet to be announced.
