Metallica has finally confirmed it will perform at Las Vegas’ cutting-edge venue Sphere, with dates set for Oct. 1, 3, 15, 17, 22, 24, 29 and 31 across four weekends that month. As with the band’s ongoing M72 World Tour, Metallica will play distinct sets between the Thursday and Saturday shows in the same weekend of the Life Burns Faster residency.

It’s completely uncharted territory! This residency gives us another chance to reinvent how we interact with our fans in a live setting. We are beyond excited to share this with the world in six months time, and way fuckin’ psyched to go next level!”

More from Spin:

The band promises to feature “live staples and surprises spanning the Metallica catalog” at Sphere and offer “a wholly unique and entirely new Metallica experience for all who attend.”

Meanwhile, Metallica’s M72 run resumes May 9 in Athens and is well on its way to a $600m gross as its rolls into its third year. The tour is scheduled to conclude July 5 at London’s London Stadium.
