Just when it seemed Quentin Tarantino was running out of ways to avoid making his long-promised 10th and final film, the director has found another detour — this one involving Kylie Minogue, RZA and a Bob Dylan song.

According to reports cited by Rolling Stone, Minogue will star alongside Tarantino in Tangled Up in Blue, a new feature from prolific British filmmaker Jamie Adams. The movie takes its title from Dylan’s 1975 classic and boasts an eclectic cast that also includes Allison Williams, Jason Isaacs and Sofia Boutella, while Wu-Tang Clan principal RZA will appear as himself.

More from Spin:

The project is currently shooting in Wales, where Tarantino and Minogue were recently spotted filming scenes in the seaside town of Porthcawl. One sequence reportedly takes place during a wake at the Saltwater Inn, while another was filmed at a church in nearby Newton.

For Tarantino, Tangled Up in Blue marks another collaboration with Adams. The filmmaker recently appeared in the filmmaker’s Only What We Carry, an improvisational drama that premiered earlier this month at the Tribeca Festival. Adams told Variety earlier this year that he initially connected with Tarantino after sending him a script and later meeting him over Zoom, describing the experience as “like Disneyland for filmmakers.”

Tarantino’s role in Tangled Up in Blue is considerably larger. Per Entertainment Weekly, he will portray Jake Stroud, a veteran music manager who, after decades of shepherding other people’s careers, finds himself confronting matters of the heart while stranded in a hotel bar between an old flame and a lost soul.

The acting turn comes as Tarantino continues to postpone his own directorial swan song. The Pulp Fiction auteur previously abandoned plans to direct The Adventures of Cliff Booth, instead handing the screenplay off to David Fincher. He has also been preparing a stage play, The Popinjay Cavalier, for London’s West End.

As for Minogue, the Australian pop icon is returning to acting roots that long predate “Can’t Get You Out of My Head.” Before her music career exploded worldwide, she made her name on television with Neighbours and later appeared in films including Moulin Rouge!, Street Fighter and San Andreas.

No release date has been announced for Tangled Up in Blue.
