Ahead of No Doubt’s May 6-June 13 at Las Vegas’ Sphere, guitarist Tom Dumont has disclosed a years-long battle with Parkinson’s disease. However, he assured fans he is still able to play his instrument and will participate in the upcoming concerts.

Dumont, 58, said on Instagram he saw a neurologist when “a number of symptoms” began to manifest and was eventually diagnosed with an early-onset form of Parkinson’s. “It’s been a struggle. It’s a struggle every day,” he said. “And I’ll make another video with details about what Parkinson’s entails. The good news is, I can still play music. I can still play guitar. I’ve been doing really well.”

He added that he’s been inspired to speak out by social media posts from other Parkinson’s patients. “I think it helps erase some of the stigma and it raises awareness, obviously, and awareness is really important for prevention and for research,” he said.

Dumont said No Doubt has spent “the last couple of months” in prep for Sphere by “looking through old footage and looking at old photographs and relearning old songs and rehearsing and creating all the video stuff for the screens. It’s kind of made me think about how grateful I am for the life I’ve gotten to lead as a musician all these years.”

No Doubt reunited at the 2024 edition of Coachella after being inactive for nearly nine years. Since, the Gwen Stefani-led group has only performed at the FireAid benefit in Los Angeles in January 2025.
