103.5 The X Brownwood Rocks!

After 41 shows and a box office gross believed to be in the neighborhood of half a billion dollars, Oasis wrapped their first tour in 16 years last night (Nov. 23) in São Paulo, Brazil.
The show did not vary from the 23-song set list that remained identical throughout the tour, but it did feature a performance of “Live Forever” dedicated to late Stone Roses bassist Gary “Mani” Mounfield, who passed away last week. Oasis, whose members gave no proper interviews this year, recapped the tour with a typically cryptic message posted on social media.
More from Spin:
“And so it came to pass,” they wrote. “‘The most damaging pop cultural force in recent British history’ found its way into the hearts and minds of a new generation. From Gallagher Hill to the River Plate, from Croke Park on the banks of the Royal Canal to the City Of Angels, the love, joy, tears and euphoria will never be forgotten. There will now be a pause for a period of reflection.”
That pause will presumably be undertaken to decide whether Liam and Noel Gallagher will keep Oasis going for more shows beyond the reunion. The group is rumored to be returning next summer to the U.K.’s Knebworth Park, which was the site of two 1996 Oasis concerts that drew more than 250,000 people.
In the meantime, Oasis music remains strong on the Official U.K. Charts. At the moment, the albums Familiar to Millions (25th Anniversary Edition), Time Flies, (What’s the Story) Morning Glory? and Definitely Maybe are all in the Top 40 there.
