Offset In Stable Condition After Florida Shooting

Former Migos member Offset is in stable condition and being treated at a hospital after being shot last night (April 6) outside the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Fl., although his specific condition is unclear.

Florida police detained two individuals in connection with the shooting — one of which is rapper Lil Tjay — and have declared the area “secure” and without further threats to the public. The 34-year-old Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was formerly married to rapper Cardi B and has three children with her. He previously served several months in jail in 2015 on felony drug and weapons charges.

Lil Tjay was taken to Broward County Jail on disorderly conduct and traffic violation charges, although his attorney, Dawn M. Florio, emphatically denied his involvement in the shooting. “Lil Tjay has not been shot, nor has Lil Tjay been charged with any shooting,” she said in a statement. “Any reporting to the contrary is false. We encourage people to consult trusted news sources, and to verify the accuracy of any reporting, before reflexively sharing or repeating baseless rumors.”

The two rappers have feuded for more than a year after Tjay claimed in a livestream that Offset owed him money and was addicted to gambling. The Florida incident is eerily similar to the November 2022 shooting that killed Offset’s cousin andfu fellow Migos member Takeoff at a Houston bowling alley.

Offset released his third solo album, Kiari, in August 2025. The third Migos member, Quavo, has actively campaigned against gun violence in the years since Takeoff’s murder.
