Offset Released From Hospital After Florida Shooting

Former Migos member Offset has been released from a Florida hospital after he was shot April 6 outside the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Fl. Writing on social media, the 34-year-old rapper said he was “good” and “planning to be better.”

“Thank you to everyone who’s checked in on me and showed me love,” he said. “I’m focused on my family, my recovery and getting back to the music… realizing that life is made up of quiet wins and loud losses. Life’s a gamble and I’m still playing to win.”

Florida police detained two individuals in connection with the shooting including rapper Lil Tjay, who was taken to Broward County Jail on disorderly conduct and traffic violation charges. He was released the next day and reportedly called Offset “a rat” on his way out of the facility.

The two rappers have feuded for more than a year after Tjay claimed in a livestream that Offset owed him money and was addicted to gambling. Last week’s Florida incident is eerily similar to the November 2022 shooting that killed Offset’s cousin and fellow Migos member Takeoff at a Houston bowling alley.

The 34-year-old Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was formerly married to rapper Cardi B and has three children with her. He previously served several months in jail in 2015 on felony drug and weapons charges.

Offset released his third solo album, Kiari, in August 2025. The third Migos member, Quavo, has actively campaigned against gun violence in the years since Takeoff’s murder.
