Rival Sons’ Jay Buchanan Visits ‘Lipps Service’

Rival Sons frontman Jay Buchanan is the guest on the latest installment of the Lipps Service podcast, speaking with host Scott Lipps about his new, Dave Cobb-produced solo album, Weapons of Beauty, which was written in isolation inside an underground Mojave Desert bunker.

Buchanan discusses the album’s themes of grief, mortality and vulnerability and how the project couldn’t have existed within Rival Sons, as well as his participation in the 2025 Black Sabbath/Ozzy Osbourne farewell concert Back to the Beginning. He also covers his acting debut in Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, the influence of the Boss’ Nebraska album, new Rival Sons music and his favorite singer/songwriters of all time.
