Robert Glasper Readies 8th Robtober Blue Note Run

Robert Glasper is bringing Robtober back to the Blue Note Jazz Club — and, as usual, he’s bringing plenty of friends. The revered pianist and composer will return to the New York venue for the eighth edition of his monthlong Robtober residency, running Oct. 1-Nov. 1. The eclectic engagement will feature a rotating cast of collaborators including Wyclef Jean, Lalah Hathaway, the Roots’ Questlove, Kem, Terrace Martin, Bilal, Derrick Hodge, Chris “Daddy” Dave and Phoelix.

The residency arrives as the Blue Note footprint continues to expand, following the 2025 opening of Blue Note Los Angeles and the recent announcement of a new London venue, for which Glasper will serve as creative ambassador. Glasper will mark another milestone on Oct. 14, hosting a special one-set-only performance celebrating the 45th anniversary of Blue Note New York.

As ever with Robtober, the fun is in the combinations. Glasper will pair with longtime collaborator Martin and Phoelix for three nights, team with Hathaway for a duo performance and join forces with Questlove and special guest Bilal. Jean will bring his Q Theory project to the Blue Note with Glasper, while the final stretch features Glasper with Hodge and Dave, including a Halloween performance. The run also includes four nights of Glasper’s “OG” acoustic piano trio, plus a finale on Nov. 1.
