๐ช๏ธ Skywarn Storm Spotter Class Hosted by National Weather Service & Brownwood Amateur Radio Club The community is invited to attend a free Skywarn Storm Spotter training session on Friday, March 21st, starting at 9:00 AM. Presented by meteorologists from the National Weather Service in partnership with the Brownwood Amateur Radio Club, this essential class equips participants with the knowledge to identify severe weather features, understand storm structures, and report critical observations safely and accurately to help protect lives and property during Texas’s active severe weather season. ๐ Informative Training & Community Safety Focus Held at Newman Hall on the campus of Howard Payne University, located at 809 Coggin Ave in Brownwood, this welcoming event is open to everyone, including amateur radio operators, law enforcement, fire department and EMS personnel, city and county employees, and members of the general public. No prior experience is required, and the session provides valuable insights into severe thunderstorms, tornadoes, and effective spotting techniques in a supportive, educational environment. ๐๏ธ Free Admission โ No RSVP Needed This class is completely free of charge with no registration or advance RSVP required, just show up ready to learn! Doors open at 9:00 AM at Newman Hall, and the training typically lasts about 2 hours. Everyone in the Brownwood area and beyond is encouraged to attend and become part of the vital network that helps the National Weather Service deliver timely warnings.
