Taylor Swift didn’t spend long searching for inspiration when it came to Toy Story 5. The artist has revealed that her original song for the imminent Pixar film, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” came together in a single day after she attended an early screening of the film.

“I saw the movie that morning, went home and just had the songwriter zoomies,” Swift said in an X post. “By that evening, Disney and Pixar had the song.”

It’s unclear when the video was filmed, but Swift describes it as “kind of a hectic day” during which she saw the film at 11 a.m., wrote “I Knew It,” produced it and tracjed vocals by 7 p.m. “In two hours, Bob Iger and Tom from Pixar are coming to hear it,” she said. “We have not recorded it yet, and I think this is one of the most fun days of my life.”

As previously reported, “I Knew It, I Knew You” will appear during the end credits of Toy Story 5, which reunites Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the gang for another adventure. Swift described contributing to the franchise as a deeply personal opportunity, citing her lifelong connection to the beloved Pixar series.

The Jack Antonoff co-write “I Knew It, I Knew You” has already debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Swift has aided its promotion by attending a New York Knicks home NBA Finals game at Madison Square Garden and accepting induction last week into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
