Wet Leg, Wolf Alice, Kasabian To Rock ‘SNL UK’

Wet Leg will be the musical guest on the debut episode of Saturday Night Live UK, which will be hosted by former SNL star/writer Tina Fey and premieres Saturday (March 21) on Sky One internationally and the next day on Peacock in the U.S.

Also confirmed for upcoming shows are Fifty Shades of Gray star Jamie Dornan with musical guest Wolf Alice on March 28 and Riz Ahmed and musical guest Kasabian on April 4. The show’s cast is staffed by Emma Sidi, Ania Magliano, Larry Dean, Ayoade Bamgboye, Paddy Young, Celeste Dring, Annabel Marlow, George Fouracres, Hammed Animashaun, Al Nash and Jack Shep.

Per Sky, SNL UK is “written, rehearsed and performed in the week of broadcast, preserving [the show’s] famously fast turnaround creative process. Each show is staged in front of a live studio audience, every episode features an opening monologue, topical sketches, live music and a U.K. adaptation of SNL’s iconic satirical news segment, Weekend Update. Together, this first wave of hosts, musical guests and cast members marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for the globally acclaimed SNL franchise — blending its storied legacy with a fresh generation of British comedy voices.”

Across the pond, SNL is basking in the afterglow of Harry Styles pulling hosting and music duties on last weekend’s episode. One of his performances was introduced by Paul Simon, while Styles also showed off his impression of Italian-American comedian Sebastian Maniscalco. The show resumes April 4 with host Woody Harrelson and musical guest Jack White.
